It's really true how you can live in a place for years and it never really feels ...right... as if it's temporary, and not a finished product. We can all get caught up by the responsibilities of work, the kids' after-school schedules, catching up with friends and the general go, go, go of life.
So curating a thoughtful and functional space it gets pushed to the back-burner. However, like the saying goes, there's no time like the present! It's with that embrace that started this project. We started with a large master bedroom with high ceilings and the finished product was a place to relax in with warm velvet textured bench, cotton-linen bedding and soft, romantic lighting.
She loved the charm of French Victorian style but didn't want the room to feel too "old". We managed to highlight some of that inspiration with touches with the floral distressed rug, the frame of the art piece, the lacquer wooden jewelry box, and crystal pendent chandelier.
I have really enjoying seeing this project come to life and sad it's over! In the next post, I'll show how we used 3D design and renders to help my client visualize the space before picking up her wallet or paint brush!
